Ashton Park is 5.45 acres. The reservoirs were drained to create green space and naturalised woodland. The River Darwen flows around the park and is used as an overflow for the surviving mill pond. The woodland and lake (with island) is home to many different species of wildlife including mallards, geese, herons and rabbits. Ashton Park.

The river Darwen walkway passes along the west perimeter of Ashton Park and is part of a trail, which starts from Ewood, Blackburn and runs out towards Bolton. There is also a childrens play area within the park.
