Avon Boating

Avon Boating: The Avon winds gently through the town, surrounded on either bank by green parkland and flower filled gardens. Hire rowing boats and punts by the hour from Avon boathouse. You can boat for over 3 miles along the peaceful upper reaches of the Avon, perhaps a quiet picnic under the willows, or simply laze on the river and have fun. Experienced staff will give basic lessons in rowing or punting if required. Or enjoy half hour river trips aboard the fleet of traditional Edwardian passenger launches. Cruise downstream past the Royal Shakespeare Theatre to Holy Trinity church and Shakespeares tomb, before turning to head upstream through the ancient 15th century Clopton Bridge. The scene changes up river to quiet river banks and meadows, with glimpses of large secluded houses and river side gardens.
