Ballynoe Stone Circle: It is a large and complex site which appears as a large circle of over 50 closely-spaced upright stones, some as much as six feet tall, with some small gaps, surrounding a space about 110 ft across.

Megalithic monument near Downpatrick where a 100ft Stone Circle encloses an ellipse of stones and a prehistoric burial mound. Dated to around 2000 BC. It is thought Ballynoe was begun in the Stone Age.

Car

Follow Killough Road in Downpatrick until crossroads at Flying Horse Housing Estate. Turn right for Ballynoe. Signposted down long footpath.
