Battlefield Railway Line: The Battlefield Line Railway is a heritage steam railway. It runs from Shackerstone to Shenton via Market Bosworth, a total of four and a half miles. Shenton is near Bosworth Field, (the location of the final battle of the Wars of the Roses), giving the railway its name.

How to get here

Car

Shackerstone Station is situated midway between Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Hinckley in Leicestershire and is signposted from both the A444 (M/A42 Jct 11 or A5 Redgate turn) and A447 (to A511 (either A42 Ashby or M1 Jct 22) or Hinckley A47) trunk roads. From these points the route is marked with brown tourist signs for you to follow.

Bus

Bus service Monday to Saturday that passes through Shackerstone. It is runs between Ashby and Nuneaton. The 7 and 7A service is run by Country Hopper (CH) and Cresswell's Coaches (CC).


Rail

The nearest railway stations are at Hinckley, Polesworth, Leicester and Nuneaton. There is a bus service from St. Margrets Bus Station, Leicester to Market Bosworth Town Centre.
