Belgay Park surrounds Mills Obervatory and has a fine mixture of deciduous and large conifer trees. For a relaxing afternoon, walk along the network of footpaths which grant magnificent views across the River Tay and there is also a 'Planet Trail' which offers a symbolic map of the solar system, spread along an informal walk on the crest of the hill. Take in Victoria Park adjoining at the south which offers a mixture of rose gardens, bedding plant displays and active play and recreational areas for the younger members of the family. Or adjoining to the north is Lochee Park, donated to the city by the Cox Brothers, Jute Mill owners in 1890 which provides ample space for active sports.
