Bolton Castle: It was built between 1378 and 1399 and is an example of a quadrangular castle. Immediately in front of the Castle are two walled gardens, the herb garden contains over fifty varieties of culinary and medicinal herbs. The the grounds is a vineyard with a modern hybrid, frost hardy and early ripening variety of red grape. There is also a maze and rose garden with twenty five varieties of rose bush.
