Brereton Heath: The park was once part of the Brereton Hall Estate, Silica sand was discovered in the 1950s and today the park is managed as a local nature reserve. The site offers a variety of walks, including an easy access trail through the woodland with restful views over the lake, If you are feeling energetic, you can have a go at the permanent orienteering course. Angling is allowed via Day Ticket only available through the Wheelock Angling Society, on marked pegs. Canoeing is allowed through organised clubs only on the lake and there are bridleways adjacent to the reserve available for horse riders.
