Brown Robin: The woodland is fairly typical of limestone woods in the area, being dominated by ash and hazel with yew forming dense stands in places. green woodpeckers may sometimes be seen feeding on the ants. The fields are also of interest for fungi, particularly waxcaps.

There is a circular path around the reserve (2km/1.2 miles) which is waymarked.
