Changing of the Guards

The regular hand-over of guards in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace draws thousands of visitors to watch the soldiers and listen to the music. The process involves a new guard exchanging duty with the old guard. Approximately forty minutes to complete
Held daily (May to July) at 11:30am, and on alternate dates throughout the rest of the year.

State Rooms Buckingham Palace

How to get here

Underground

Green Park (Underground station): South across Green Park.
Victoria Station: Northeast along Buckingham Palace Road.

Pedestrian

From Trafalgar Square: Exit via Admiralty Arch situated in the southwest direction of Trafalgar Square. Once through Admiralty Arch, The Mall is directly in front of you and St James Park located on your left. Either will transfer you to the front of Buckingham Palace after a ten minute stroll.
