Bushmoor Coppice

UK»England»Shropshire»Bushmoor Coppice

Bushmoor Coppice: This is a wood worth seeking out, especially in spring when golden saxifrage, bluebells and yellow archangel light up the woodland floor. Follow the path marked with mossy logs that twists along in a wonky figure of eight, crossing two rippling streams. This wood is bird heaven with dozens of nest-boxes fixed to the trees.

How to get here

Car

From Church Stretton take the first right off the A49 after Acton Scott, signed Bushmoor. Park in the village and then follow the track that takes off from the right-angle bend. This brings you along a green lane bounded by some fine old oak trees. Turn right through the gate and carry on along the field margin to the wood ahead.
