The Caledonian Railway runs through the scenic countryside from Brechin to The Bridge of Dun. Board the train at the unique Victorian terminus at Brechin in an atmosphere of period charm then journey back in time as you travel the falling grade to Bridge of Dun. Much to enjoy on the journey and in the surrounding areas.

Stagecoach Strathay run frequent services to Brechin from Montrose. They also operate buses from Arbroath, Forfar, Edzell, Dundee and other local destinations. The nearest bus stop for the railway is at St.Ninian's Square, just opposite Brechin station.


Scotrail operate the majority of trains - direct services from Montrose to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen plus local destinations.


From the South.
M90 to Perth, then continue to Dundee via the A90. Continue on the A90 towards Forfar and Aberdeen. Brechin is just off the A90 about 25 miles from Dundee. Follow the brown tourist signs marked Caledonian Railway.
From the North.
Brechin is just off the main Aberdeen - Dundee road, the A90. Watch out for the brown tourist signs marked Caledonian Railway.
Once in Brechin. Follow the brown tourist signs for the Caledonian Steam Railway

Bridge of Dun station
Bridge of Dun station is tourist signposted from the A935, also with brown tourist signs.



Steam hauled trains operate every Sunday from the last Sunday in May through to first Sunday in September. Throughout July and August trains also operate on selected Saturdays.
