Careys Castle: In this wood is the remains of a castle remains, including; Gothic windows, a Celtic round tower, a Norman Keep, and both Romanesque and Gothic arches.

Trees include; birch, oak, beech and ash with some spruce and larch mixed in. wildlife to be found here are red squirrel, foxes, badgers, rabbit, otter, fallow deer and a wide variety of birdlife. At this site there are waymarked trails and picnic site.
