Carsington Watersports: Carsington watersports and cycle hire centre was formed in 1992 by local water sports and cycling enthusiasts. The main aim is on offering a service that focuses on quality and safety with emphasis on providing a friendly welcoming environment to encourage and help people learn new activities and skills. For those who prefer dry land there is cycle hire on mountain bikes with child seats and tow buggies with an excellent choice of routes. For the water enthusiast the fishery is predominantly a brown trout fishery stocked with both small fish, to grow and larger fish of takeable size. Then there is canoe hire with tuition for the complete beginner, in fact for the outdoor person you would be hard to find an activity that did not suit at Carsington Reservoir, even down to a stroll around the lake on good footpaths.
