Castle Kennedy Gardens: The gardens are extensively landscaped with terraces, mounds and avenues, all of which were created by men and horses, and extend to more than 30 hectares. The garden walks are almost all grass, and undulate from one end to the other. Visitors are welcome to take a picnic into the garden

How to get here


Castle Kennedy Gardens are situated approximately five miles East of Stranraer on the A75 road. The entrance is clearly signed at the village of Castle Kennedy.

From the East, brown tourist sign posts start roughly 12 miles from the gardens.

From the North, you will be driving down the A77. When you are approximately 2 miles from Stranraer, turn left onto the A751 sign posted to Dumfries. After about 3 miles at the junction with the A75, turn left towards Dumfries, and you will come to the village of Castle Kennedy after 1 mile. Turn left into the gardens as sign posted.
