Cauldwells Mill: There has been a water mill on this site for over 600 years with the history of the mill going back to 1591. Innovations and alterations have been made throughout the centuries right up to 1930 and the mill the visitor can see today a very fine example on all four floors of an early water powered roller mill as a complete machine, believed to be the only such mill left in Europe that can be visited. The mill still has a reputation for producing high quality flour and craftspeople work from some of the other buildings.
