Chateris Museum: The Chatteris museum collection first began in 1942 as a result of an interest in local history by Mr Charles Dobb, a clerk to the council. Initially his little collection was housed in one small glass cabinet but the collection continued to grow and before long there were enough exhibits to fill 4 rooms. Fossils cover the stone, bronze and iron ages, discover the impact of the roman, anglo saxon and medieval periods, through to the tudors, stuarts, georgian and victorian ages. Discover how the people worshiped, worked, lived and shopped all in this small but thorough museum.
