Chester Grosvenor Museum: The Grosvenor Museum was founded in 1885, and its origins are linked to the start of the Chester Society for Natural Science, Literature and Art, founded by Charles Kingsley in 1871. The Grosvenor Museum houses internationally important Roman collections, a pre-eminent collection of silver, a beautiful art gallery, a popular natural history gallery and charming period rooms. The Museum also runs a lively and diverse programme of exhibitions and events and a very successful education service. We help people to enjoy and understand the story and heritage of Chester, both past and present, through collecting, caring for, documenting, exploring and interpreting objects and their related information
