UK»England»Northumberland»Chillingham Wild Cattle Park

Chillingham Wild Cattle Park: Wild cattle once roamed the length of Britain, today the survivors of the herds are to be found among the 365 acres of Chillingham Park. This has been their home since the thirteenth century and the herd now numbers in excess of 80. There is warden guided tour around the park as the cattle can be dangerous, on the tour the visitor will see the many other wild animals that share the park with the Chillingham cattle. There are ancient beech and oak woodlands to be enjoyed, after the tour there is a marked trail around the perimeter of the park which has terrific views over the surrounding countryside and the park itself which the visitor can enjoy at leisure.
