Cottenham Lode

UK»England»Cambridgeshire»Cottenham Lode

Cottenham Lode is one of the many waterways which connect Fen Edge villages to the main river system, some of these may originally date back to early medieval or even Roman times. It makes for an enchanting walk on level footpaths to the River Ouse and can be combined in a round walk taking in the hill fort at Ramsey on the many footpaths in this area. On the return to Cottenham, do pay a visit to the church in its soft brownstone and lofty tower it makes a peaceful for a nice place at the end of the day. As with all these sites please observe the Country Code, take your litter home with you, keep dogs on a lead, where dogs are allowed, and keep to marked paths to avoid disturbing wildlife.
