Decoy Country Park

The nature reserve is a strip of woodland and fen running along the spring line of a wooded slope that lies within Decoy Country Park, a large complex of woodland, grassland, ponds and amenity areas. The reserve contains a raised peat dome with fen vegetation fed by base-rich springs. This vegetation type is present nowhere else in Devon, and is rare elsewhere in the South West. Allow 30 minutes to walk the circular route from the car park, around the edge of the reserve and back again.

Decoy Country Park is on the south-east edge of Newton Abbot and is 'brown-signed' on the Newton Abbot exit from the A380 Penn Inn roundabout. The main entrance is on Decoy Road where there is car parking for 90 cars. The Park is within a 15 minute walk or cycle ride from much of Newton Abbot.
