Den of Maidencraig Local Nature Reserve is located in the valley of the Denburn, one of the larger burns which drain from the surrounding countryside and eventually joins the River Dee in the centre of the City. It has a diversity of habitats including ancient and new woodland, marshy grassland, a pond and burn. As well as a variety of birds, the reserve is also home to foxes and roe deer. Nature and woodland walk along the Denburn.

In Aberdeen, off A944, on B9119 Skene Road. 4 miles west of city centre, footpath links to Hazelhead Park & Bressay Brae. Parking available near Groats Road end of reserve.
