The collections held by the Museum Service relate to the history of the Barrow area from prehistoric times to the present day.

Collections - The Dock Museum currently holds approximately 20,000 objects. It is not possible to display all of the objects at once, but many objects are showcased, whether through temporary exhibitions, our educational services

Galleries - Explore the story of Barrow's mushrooming from farming village to major industrial hub, building state-of-the-art submarines and exporting steel rails round the world. Find out how the personalities involved and the community it has created have helped to shape the character of the town that can be seen today.

Car

On the edge of the English Lake District, Barrow-in-Furness enjoys a coastal setting, with access from the M6 motorway, leaving at junction 36 to follow the A590.
Enter Barrow from any direction and follow the brown and white Dock Museum signs.
