Elgood Brewery: The North Brink Brewery site in the heart of the fen country which includes the orchards, gardens and stables was bought in 1714 and was established in 1795 as the first Georgian brewery to by built outside of London. Now in the hands of the fifth generation of the Elgood family, the brewery has maintained its traditional brewing methods in the original buildings. Behind the buildings lie 4 acres of magnificient gardens maintained to their Georgian and Victorian splendor. Along the river Nene are a lake, herb garden, specimen trees, rockery, water features, a maze and lots more. A visit to the gardens is a delight on its own or it can be combined with a guided tour of the brewery, which include a sample of ale for the adults, children, tours start at 2.00pm children under the age of 6 are not permitted on the tour.
