Eliburn Woods is 19.10 acres does contain examples of the more common species found in more natural mixed broadleaved woodland habitats, with soft grasses, ferns and strong bramble growth where more open conditions coincide with the damper fertile soils. Poor drainage in the south of compartment 1 has encouraged both soft rush and tussock grasses.
