Fort Perch Rock was built as a coastal defence battery during the Napoleonic period to protect the Port of Liverpool. It is now a museum, displaying its own history as well as a collection of aviation relics from World War Two and exhibitions covering the connections the Wirral had with the ill-fated vessels Titanic and Lusitania.
