Glapwell countryside site is the area of a disused coal mining site. It was reclaimed in the 1980s and now boasts a host of facilities. The flora and fauna has returned in abundance, there is parking with good trails and bridlepaths, there are picnic areas fishing on stockley pond, please refer to the glapwell angling club, and access to woodland, the stockley trail and the Doe Lea local nature reserve.
