Go Ape at Grizedale Forest is our most popular course, Grizedale is a jewel in our crown. Fly 200 metres across the top of the Grizedale Beck and marvel at the forest canopy 18 metres up a magnificent Douglas Fir.

How to get here


From the South:
The site is most easily reached from the south. From junction 36 on the M6, take the A590 and follow signs for Barrow-in-furness. At the Newby Bridge roundabout take the A590, avoiding delays on the Windemere/Bowness road. Follow the A590 for a further couple of miles and take the first right after the Steam Museum, Go Ape Grizedale is a mile north of the village of Satterthwaite. TO AVOID MISSING YOUR BOOKED TIME SLOT DO NOT USE THE WINDEMERE FERRY AS YOU MAY EXPERIENCE LONG DELAYS!!

From the North:
If you’re approaching Go Ape Grizedale from the north, turn right at the T junction as you exit Hawkshead, pass the school and the coal yard on your right, immediately after take the sharp right turn, IT’S EASY TO MISS!! Follow the road up the steep hill and follow it for a couple of miles.

Car parking is available at the Kennels Road car park 300m North of the cabin and at the new car park 300m to the South, The Mill Wood car park is now closed for redevelopment.
