Grace Dieu Priory was founded as a small Augustinian nunnery in the 13th century and remained in existence until 1538 when it was closed during the Dissolution of the Monasteries and then converted into a Tudor house. From the end of the 16th century the buildings went into decline although some activity remained on the site, mainly agricultural. And is now home to the mythical ghost the White Nun.

Car

Get off M1 at junction 23 follow A512, Loughborough to Ashby Road. Can be seen from A512. parking at Bulls Head, Thringstone 300 yards away.

Get off A42 at junction 13 follow A512 as before.
