Hardwick Wood

UK»England»Cambridgeshire»Hardwick Wood

Hardwick Wood is an ancient woodland and about its 38 acres it still shows the sinuous outline of medieval woods, it is surrounded by a substantial wood bank which is well preserved on the south and east sides. After a break of about 50 years coppicing was reinstated in 1979 which traditional practice lets in more light to the benefit of flowers and insects. A perfect place to listen to owls and watch the bats at twilight. As with all these sites please observe the Country Code, take your litter home with you, keep dogs on a lead, where dogs are allowed, and keep to marked paths to avoid disturbing wildlife.
