Hartshead Pike: The tower that is on the site today was built in 1863. The grasslands and dry stone walls are home to a large number of insects and beetles that in turn support a population of mice, voles, shrews and weasels which are a source of food for kestrel, fox and owls which can be seen hunting across the area. There is a substantial network of footpaths, bridleways and quiet country lanes passing through and around the area.
