Hewitts Wood: A simple permissive path network links the public footpath along the southern boundary to entrance points off Newton Hall Lane at the south and north corners of the wood. The site is flat and located in a flat landscape, the soils are sandy with a high silt content capped with a rich mull humus and leaf litter, with a high water table. It is mixed secondary woodland dominated by pine, oak, beech, and sycamore with, ash, common alder, horse chestnut, and hornbeam. Rhododendron is abundant in the under story which also includes, wych elm, sycamore, holly, beech, ash, elder, hornbeam and birch.

Hewitts Wood lies on the northern edge of the Village of Knolls Green (Mobberly) which is approximately halfway between Alderly Edge and Knutsford on the B5085. The Wood abuts Newton Hall Lane to the east.
