Hill Close Gardens, Warwick

UK»England»Warwickshire»Warwick»Hill Close Gardens, Warwick

Hill Close Gardens, Warwick: The hidden hedged gardens of Warwicks Hill Close Gardens are rare survivals of Victorian gardens once used by townsfolk living above their business to escape from the crowded town. They are a rare survival of something which was very common in the last century for people who had little or no gardens attached to their premises. There are three fun activities for children under 12 years. Join Lottie the ladybird, Henry the hedgehog and Art the amazing time travelling ant on their new trails around the gardens. The collection of historic apples is one of the outstanding horticultural features at the Gardens and early autumn is one of the best times to visit the gardens to see the asters and chrysanthemums at their best. Major restoration has been carrried out to the Victorian brick built summerhouses. There is interest all the year round with spring bulbs and blossom, fine herbaceous borders and unusual varieties of fruit trees, plants and vegetables.
