House on the Hill Toy Museum: This is the largest toy museum in Europe with over 80,000 individual items of mixed antiquity on display, housed within an area of 7,000 sq ft. The artefacts range from the late Victorian era right through to the 1990s.

Some of the things you can see at the museum are - Dolls and Dolls Houses, Barbie and Sindy, TV and Film Related Toys, Puppets and Tin Toys, Trains and Lead Toys, Space and Military Toys, Teddy Bears, Novelty Toys and Tins, Books, Games and Annuals, Coin-Operated Machines Of Yesteryear, Die-Cast Toys, Golden Jubilee Exhibition, Princess Dianas Bicycle, Rock N Roll Memorabilia and much more.

How to get here


From the North or South, go to the M11 and follow the signs to Stansted Airport. Leave the M11 at Junction 8 and take the A120 exit towards Hertford. At the next roundabout take the second exit, continuing on the A120. At the final roundabout take the third exit on to the B1383. On reaching the centre of Stansted Mountfitchet village, turn right on to the B1051 Chapel Hill. At the bottom of the hill, turn left and immediately right into the Lower Street Car Park.


The Museum is only a few minutes walk from Stansted Mountfitchet train station.
