UK»England»Suffolk»Iken Wood

Iken Wood: Iken woods lies close to the banks of the River Alde and may be the only ancient coppice wood on blown sand in Britain. This lowland coppice oakwood has a distinctive flora typical of woods on light soils. Near the car park there are wonderful views across the River Alde, this is a great spot to picnic and enjoy nature. The mud flats and salt marshes are internationally important feeding grounds and migration sites for waders and wildfowl. You might see Shelduck, Redshank and Avocet.
