Kelmscott Manor, a grade 1 Listed Tudor farmhouse adjacent to the River Thames, was built in 1570, with an additional wing added to the northeast corner in about 1665. The Manor is built of local limestone on the edge of the village of Kelmscott.

How to get here

Car

From the north (M1) - Exit the M1 at junction 21 and take M69 towards Coventry. Take A46 to Warwick. From Warwick take A429 to Stow-on-the-Wold. Just past Stow-on-the-Wold take A424 to Burford and then the A361 to Lechlade. At Lechlade turn left onto A417 to Faringdon. Kelmscott is signposted on the left just before The Trout pub. Follow the signs to Kelmscott and Kelmscott Manor.

From London via M4 (Swindon) - Exit M4 at junction 15 (Swindon). Head north on A419 towards Cirencester. Take A361 (right turn) to Burford. At Lechlade take A417 to Faringdon. Kelmscott is signposted on the left just before The Trout pub. Follow the signs to Kelmscott and Kelmscott Manor.

From London via M40 (Oxford) - At M40 junction 8A take A40 Oxford bypass, signposted Cheltenham. At Witney take A4095 to Faringdon. The Kelmscott turning is signposted on the right, after the village of Clanfield. Follow the signs to Kelmscott and Kelmscott Manor.
