Laing Museum is housed in a building which was gifted to the town by a local historian and benefactor, Alexander Laing. Laings study has been recreated as a permanent feature and on display are some of the antiquarian and reference books from his own collection as well as unusual objects he collected, together with other objects from the Museums collections. There is also an annual temporary exhibition on a local history topic.
