Laycombe Wood: Laycombe is situated on the steep, west facing scarp slope of the Cotswolds, with a variety of aspects along its greatly indented length. Laycombe is a long, thin wood much indented by small side valleys and re-entrants in the Waterley and Spuncombe Bottoms. Although only 2.2Km long as the crow flies, it has a total perimeter of 8.1Km and is only 0.3Km at its widest. At Laycombe views from the top of the slope include the Severn Estuary, Tyndale Monument and Waterly Bottom.
