Llancaiach Fawr Manor: Visitors today step into the Manor House restored and furnished as it was in 1645 when King Charles I came to visit and allegiances changed to Parliament. During the winter months the Ghost Tour season gives visitors the opportunity to experience the atmosphere for themselves as the guides tell stories of the many uncanny experiences of staff, visitors and previous residents. Has live actors, gardens and exhibition.

Ghost Tour

Llancaiach Fawr has a well-deserved reputation for being haunted. Visitors who wish to experience the atmosphere for themselves are invited to join them for the following event a tour around the Manor House by candlelight led by two of our staff who tell true stories of the uncanny things which have happened to them and to visitors over the years. The tours take place on Thursdays and Fridays at 7pm and 8.30pm during October 2009 to March 2010 and last one and a half hours. Price is £10 per person and includes a bowl of cowl or vegetable soup plus a bread roll. The cafe is open for the purchase of additional refreshments. Numbers are limited for safety reasons and places must be booked in advance.

From M4 motorway:
Leave at junction 32 and follow the A470 towards Merthyr Tydfil. After approximately 12 miles turn right at the roundabout signposted A472 Ystrad Mynach and follow the brown historic building signs though Nelson village.

From A465:
Heads of the Valley road turn onto the A470 towards Cardiff, follow this road past Merthyr Tydfil and turn left at the roundabout signposted A472 Ystrad Mynach. Follow the brown historic building signs though Nelson village.
