The Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway is a water-powered funicular railway joining the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth on the rugged coast of North Devon.


The railway comprises two cars, each capable of transporting 40 passengers, joined by a continuous cable running around a 5ft 6in pulley at each end of the incline.

How to get here

Car

Leave M5 at junction J27 and join A361 signposted Tiverton.
Stay on A361 for 25 miles.

At roundabout leave at the 3rd exit onto A399 towards Lynton.
Stay on A399 for 11 miles.

Leave A399 and turn right onto A39 towards Lynton.

Follow signs for Lynton & Lynmouth approx 9 Miles.

When you reach Barbrook Petrol Station turn left Lynton & Lynmouth 1 Mile.
