The ground is wet and rough in places, so care must be taken when exploring this reserve. There are no way-marked paths around Mambury Moor, allow at least 45 minutes to walk around. The site comprises five fields, two of which have undergone limited agricultural improvement in the past. The remaining three are Culm Grassland and form part of the Mambury and Stowford Moors SSSI.

How to get here

Car

From Bideford take the A386 towards Torrington and Okehampton. Turn right, signposted to Littleham, Buckland Brewer, Parkham, Bradworthy and the Gnome Reserve. Follow this road for 10km and turn left at Powler's Piece. Follow the road through Common Moor, a large area of Culm Grassland, to Wrangworthy Cross (2km). Turn right. The nature reserve and car park are on your left, with access from the road at several points.

From Okehampton take the A386 towards Bideford. At Great Torrington take the B3227 towards Stibb Cross (6km). Turn left and then immediately right at Stibb Cross onto the minor road signposted to Woolsery and Clovelly. Follow the road through Thorne Moor, a large area of Culm Grassland, to Wrangworthy Cross (5.5km). Turn left. The nature reserve is on your left, with access from the road at several points.
