Martham Broad: This 60 hectare reserve comprises 590,000 Meter square of open water, reed and saw-sedge fen and it is a shallow, brackish lake. The reed swamp consists of common reed and lesser reed mace. In summer, the swallowtail butterfly can be seen.

The path along the north side of the Broad presents one of the best views in Norfolk across the Broad.

How to get here

Car

Approach Martham village on the B1152 from the A149 Stalham to Caister-on-Sea road. Follow the road through to West Somerton. Turn left onto the B1159 and head for the West Somerton staithe, which is behind the last houses in the village on the left.
