Trains into Lincoln arrive at Lincoln Central in the downhill area of Lincoln and the Museum is located on Burton Road which is a five minute walk from Lincoln Castle and Cathedral, situated in the uphill area, signposted Cathedral Quarter. From the railway station the museum is approximately a 25 minute walk, turning left out of the railway station, right onto the main High Street, up Spring Hill then onto Union Road, past the Lawn Complex and then onto Burton Road itself until you reach the museum.

The number seven bus runs from the City Bus Station in the centre of town (opposite the railway station) every 20 minutes and stops right outside the museum. Alternatively there is a Walk and Ride minibus that runs from opposite the railway station, the closest stop to the museum is on Union Road from where it is less than a five minute walk to the museum.
