Neston Crosses

UK»England»Cheshire»Neston Crosses

The Neston Crosses lie in the Church of St Mary and St Helen in the village of Neston. They are parts of five late Saxon crosses, just four shafts and one head remain. They are decorated and include a figure of a priest, two figures fighting with daggers and two horsemen as well as typical decorative motifs. Part of one cross is now a lintel in the belfry. Also within and around the church are four medieval grave covers and a headstone.
