Old Gaol Museum Buckingham

Old Gaol Museum Buckingham: One of the first purpose-built county gaols in England, it now tells the story of Buckingham. The ancient cells with their double doors still remain.

The building looks like a castle and is an early example of 18th century Gothic architecture. The strange appearance and interesting history of the building means that it was chosen as one of the Jewels of Milton Keynes. A tour of the Museum takes the visitor through the story of the old county town from ancient times to today.
