Onslow Green

UK»England»Essex»Onslow Green

Onslow Green: An attractive 2 acre village green with a wide marginal hedge and two ponds. It has some interesting late spring/early summer flowers, including dyer's greenweed, tormentil and a small quantity of sulphur clover.

On its margins the larger pond has yellow flag, water forget-me-not and fine-leaved water-dropwort. It attracts damselflies, dragonflies and great diving beetles, and in season you may see smooth newts and the occasional great crested newt.
