Poles Coppice is an attractive ancient oak woodland with disused quarry workings. There are orchids in the main quarry with a few scattered in the small quarry and at the picnic site nearest Pontesbury, there are also a wide range of ancient woodland plants.The site provides quiet circular walks with tremendous views across Pontesbury and the Rea Valley.

Car

Half a mile south of Pontesbury. There is a car park at the end of Pontesbury Hill Road, alternatively there is a car park and picnic area off Callow Lane, the road between Minsterley and Habberley, with access on foot to Poles Coppice.
