Portland Bill Lighthouse: For nearly 300 years a lighthouse has stood on Portland Bill to guide vessels heading for Portland and Weymouth. A red sector light warns mariners of the hazardous Shambles Bank lying three miles offshore.

The lighthouse now is now fully automatic. Guided tours of the lighthouse can be arranged. Also on the site of the lighthouse is a visitor centre, It has displays about the lighthouses,
