There are plenty of things to do at Queen Elizabeth Country Park. From gentle pursuits such as walking, taking in the view, and relaxing with a cup of tea from the cafeteria, to striding out along the long distance footpaths, testing your skills in the saddle, and getting off the beaten track to explore nature and history.

Barbecues and Picnics

There are 11 family hearths in the forest which can be hired for set periods 11am-1pm, 1pm-3pm, 3pm-5pm and 5pm-7pm at £3 per session.
Each hearth caters for up to 12 people and comes with a picnic table. There are several group sites.

BBQ's are only permitted in the hearths provided. The Visitor Centre shop has firelighters, matches, utensils, locally made charcoal and a selection of Hampshire Fare produce. There are also many picnic areas throughout the Park


How to get here


The site has its own sliproads on both the north and south bound carriageways of the A3. Follow the brown and white tourist board signs.


South West Trains Ltd run regular services to Petersfield.


Stagecoach service 38 will stop at the A3 bus stop adjacent to the park.
Bus services are operated by Stagecoach and First


A cycleway runs south from the Park, adjacent to the A3, towards Clanfield.

Dogs welcome under close control or on a lead. NB There are 300 sheep and a large deer population. Waste must be bagged and put in the 'dual use' bins - free bags from reception. £5 discount on a season ticket for dog owners who have passed a recognised training course. Water bowls outside the Visitor Centre.
