Ravenmeols Sandhills: The site has a beautiful rural sandy beach, high dunes, furrowed grassland that were once asparagus fields, scrubby areas of deciduous trees and a belt of pinewoods.

Lifeboat Road is an ideal site for people of all ages. There is a large car park, picnic tables and waymarked paths to the beach, woodland and adjacent sites. The high dunes afford excellent views of Liverpool, Wirral, North Wales and Blackpool. On clear days the fells of south Cumbria can be seen. Why not try and spot one of the rare red squirrels feeding on pine cones or search for 5,000-year-old red deer footprints on the beach
