Reinforced Field Position: Originally built during the 19th century as a guardhouse to protect the island from the French. This was then changed into a reinforced field position housing twin machine guns, a mortar emplacement and searchlights. The shelter here still has the steel rails. At the edge of the cliff here is the mounted metal rim of a tank turret which was captured from the French.
